The Dementia Care Pathway through Health-IQ in the Athens Alzheimer Association’s Latest Issue
September is recognized globally as World Alzheimer's Month, offering an important opportunity to reflect on what dementia care looks like in practice — not only from a clinical perspective, but through the everyday experiences of people living with dementia and their families.
A new article published in the latest issue of the Athens Alzheimer Association’s magazine, presents an early snapshot of the ongoing dementia care pathway study in Greece.
Conducted by CMT Prooptiki on behalf of the World Health Organization (WHO) as part of the HEALTH-IQ project, and in collaboration with the Athens Alzheimer Association, the study explores how people and families navigate care from the first signs of dementia and diagnosis through to ongoing support and everyday care.
The article, “Listening to caregivers to improve dementia care”, draws attention to the experiences emerging from this work and to some of the key questions shaping the study: How do families find their way through the system? What happens after a diagnosis? And where is further support most needed?
